The parents of a missing five-year-old Illinois boy are accused of murdering him after police discovered the child’s body wrapped in plastic in a shallow grave in a nearby Town, Police said at a Wednesday press conference. Authorities launched a massive search for Andrew Freund of Crystal Lake when his father called police to report him missing last Thursday. Ultimately the boy’s Father Andrew Freund senior allegedly gave police information that led to the discovery of his body at nearby Woodstock, Crystal Lake Police Chief James Black said at the press conference. Andrew Freund and mother Joanne Cunningham face first-degree murder and other charges black said. “AJ is no longer suffering and his Killers have been brought to Justice” Black said adding that the boys cause of death has not yet been determined.

AJ’s parents said they last saw him on April 17th at about 9 p.m. when he went to bed, police announced in a press release last week. His father reported him missing that following morning when he told police he woke up and couldn’t find the child. Earlier this week police released the recording of the 911 call where he can be heard calmly telling the dispatcher that he could not find his son.

What a shame? Lying pieces of shit. Once again these fuckers take from the community and use resources to find a child they killed. How low can these imbeciles go?

This little boy is Much better off dead than with these crack head junkies.

Freund and Cunningham are currently in custody and both face five counts of first-degree murder. Cunningham was also charged with four counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated domestic battery, and one count of failure to report a missing child death.

Freund was also charged with two counts of aggravated battery, one count of aggravated domestic battery, two counts of concealment of homicidal death, and one count of failure to report a missing child death.

The day Andrew was reported missing, his mother was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant stemming from a December 2018 incident for driving with a suspended license. According to the incident report, Cunningham drove to a nearby fast-food restaurant to have someone call the police to report an alleged burglary at her home.

In the report, Crystal Lake police officers expressed concern over the squalid living conditions at the home. One officer wrote that the house did not have an “acceptable standard of living” and said there was dog feces and urine inside. Several windows were broken and the fireplace did not appear to work, the officer wrote.

Another officer wrote that the house was “cluttered, dirty and in despair” and the smell of feces was “overwhelming.” One of Cunningham’s two kids also had a large bruise on his right hip, the officer wrote. The children were removed from the home and taken to the police station after Cunningham was arrested for driving with the suspended license. A child welfare worker interviewed the children at the police station, and released them back to Cunningham after she posted bond because they could not determine how the child got the bruise, the report states.

Police were called several more times to the family’s home. In September 2018, an officer responded to the home after someone reported that the family had been living there without power. Cunningham refused to let police into the house but the officer noted in the report that both children appeared to be “happy and healthy”.

What a shame. Appeared to be happy and healthy. I understand. I’ve had no utilities before with smaller kids and it sucked. No broken windows, no dog feces, no urine, no squalor. We had so much food I couldn’t handle it all. My Neighbor let me use their water and a chord for utilities. I kept mmy freezer plugged up on low to keep foods cold. We had 2 propane stoves with a huge back yard. We purchased charcoal and propane to cook daily. We used yard waste to start the fires. For bathing I filled up several gallons of water and heated it up in a pot to make a bath. For washing laundry we washed by hand and hang dry on the line outback. When it was cold we walked to the laundry mat 5 minutes away. My house was NEVER DIRTY. We used portable toilets that I’d purchased from Good Will That are for the elderly. We filled them with newspaper and each use required a new Target bag if you did #2. Our bill was almost $1300. I improvised and nobody knew we were struggling. We could afford our rent only and we received food stamps but not much else. We did that shit. Nobody had any substance abuse issues, nobody had to die. If you can’t take care of your kids, seek help. There’s no excuse for what this woman did to her child. I’m guessing that’s why she got a lawyer. She’s gonna blame her ex. I understand poverty. But being poor doesn’t mean you have to be negligent. I hope they both rot.

I’m also hoping that the city sues her and Sr for using man hours, to search for a child they already knew was deceased.
