ORLANDO, Fla. — A mother is being charged with murder after authorities allege she stabbed her 11-year-old daughter, whose body was found in a vehicle at a hospital parking lot late Sunday morning.

Orlando police officers responded to Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women, located at 83 W. Miller Street, just before 11 a.m.

According to hospital security, Rosa Alcides Rivera, 28, drove up to a valet area, was argumentative, and asked for medical assistance for a female passenger, who investigators later said was the driver’s daughter, Aleyda Rivera, 11.

Hospital staff determined Rivera, who was found dead inside the vehicle, died from multiple stab wounds.

Rivera became combative and produced a knife, police said. Hospital security and officers detained the driver without incident. The hospital was briefly locked down as a result.

Rivera is charged with first-degree murder. She is being held at Orange County Jail.

The investigation continued for hours at the main entrance as authorities removed Rivera’s body and collected evidence.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is now handling the investigation after Orlando Police said the incident occurred in their jurisdiction.

Orlando Health in a statement said the hospital is open and any patients coming in will be directed where to go.

The investigation is ongoing.

Ummm what in the holy hell happened here? She’s a little too late for this. And then to have an attitude with the staff was basically because she knew what she’d done and was attempting to deflect attention from herself.

Her daughter was due to turn 12 this coming Thursday!
