Logan Kyle And wife Shelena

Calcasieu Parish, LA – A soldier based in Louisiana was arrested in a car with his wife’s body in the trunk, his girlfriend driving, and her two toddlers in the car, officials said Monday.

Logan T. Kyle, 22, was turned over to Army investigators at Fort Polk; Sarah M. Parker, 24, of Lake Charles was arrested on charges of obstructing justice and failing to report a homicide; and Parker’s 1- and 2-year-old children were taken into state custody Saturday night, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Kyle, who has been in the Army for four years and stationed at Fort Polk for a couple of years, was in custody, base spokeswoman Kimberly Reischling said in an email. She said she cannot release his wife’s name until Tuesday because Army regulations require a 24-hour wait after notifying next of kin.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Monday that somebody who had been told about the body called the sheriff’s office to say a woman was driving around with a body in her trunk. Deputies stopped Parker’s car about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Detectives learned that Kyle killed the woman at Fort Polk, and that Parker knew about the killing and was trying to help him hide and get rid of the body, the news release said.

Myers said bond has not been set for Parker, and she did not know whether Parker has an attorney.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of this Patriot Family member,” said Col. Kendall J. Clarke, brigade commander, in the release. “She was a member of our family and her death affects us all. We send our most sincere condolences to her family and friends.”

Kyle joined the Army four years ago and came to Fort Polk in February 2017. He is an infantry fire team leader, reads the release.

Shelena Kyle’s death is being investigated by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. The release stated that no more information would be released.

Shelena was from Lafayette, Indiana, and had married Logan on August 9, 2016, according to her Facebook page.

What did she think would happen? Did she think that she and the married man would ride off into the sunset?

If a man kills his wife to be with you, when he’s tired of you, what do you think he’ll do to you? Come on.

And then to drive around town with the corpse in your trunk, WITH THE CHILDREN is unthinkable. What a messy way to handle things? What was the benefit of getting with a woman with children? I’m just asking because I believe that this played a role in his decision making. He didn’t use his brains, I believe it was greed. Yes men DO actually choose to be with women who have kids because of welfare, income taxes,… etc. Some of them enjoy having women who are on government programs because they have to do very little for them financially. So what was his motivation for killing his wife? It sure as hell wasn’t for love.
