Alpena, MI – An Alpena couple is behind bars, accused of sexually abusing a child a decade ago.

State police say they arrested Walter Massengill and Joann Massengill-King on several sexual assault charges.

The arrests stem from an investigation that began in 2008 when a 6-year-old child reported being sexually abused by the couple.

Right now, investigators say they didn’t have enough evidence to press charges.

Now, 10 years later, the Alpena County Prosecutor’s Office has re-opened the case after new evidence surfaced.

A judge charged the pair with multiple sex crimes Monday.

They’re now being held at the Alpena County Jail, each on a $500,000 bond.

I guess it’s true what they say. Nobody gets away with anything. At some point and time, your sins will be found out. Whatever you do wrong, maybe it does come back to you. I am curious as to what new evidence surfaced after all these years. It must have been pretty damaging, because those bond amounts are pretty high for a slight suspicion.
