– Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said on Tuesday that a city police officer died in floodwaters over the weekend while driving to work.
“While I’ve encouraged other people to stay at home, our first responders they have been working 24 hours, 24-7, on behalf of the people of the city of Houston,” the mayor told reporters. “At the same time, they have been putting themselves in harm’s way.”
Today, I’m sad and deeply saddened to announce the death of Sergeant Steve Perez,” he said, adding the 60-year-old officer died Sunday.

You know its kinda crazy because we don’t think that way. Everybody is at risk during these times. This guy wasn’t trying to rescue anyone, he was going to work and dies on the way.
I’m just thinking that I wouldn’t be going in. Its not selfish to want to take Care of yourself and your own family. That’s human nature.
Will he be remembered? Who knows?
I hadn’t heard about the boat robbers. Lol sorry. But they loot every time man! Geez you can’t trust nobody.

It’s ridiculous there. I have family in Texas and Louisiana and it’s awful. People from Louisiana “The Cajun Navy” have taken their boats to Texas to assist and the looting and robbing is already happening. People are pretending to need rescuing and when the boats come by they rob them and take their boats. But I’m glad for one thing during all of this death and destruction, that snake oil salesman, Joel Osteen is finally seen for the scum sucking prick that he is.
