So are we all wrong? Are the sites proclaming falsehoods about Bey? Of course not. It is self hatred defined. Vanessa Williams played a Creole woman in a film many years ago. She was brainwashed to think that “lighter” meant better. Her father/papa was white and her mother black. It was a moving show to watch. Vanessa naturally looks black with some mixed race, Halle Berry is biracial, yet she looks blacker than Beyonce. What’s going on here? What is going on in her mind that makes her think this is acceptable? Now of course, famous people are NOT to be role models for our children. WE are. But in saying that, doesn’t mean we cannot discuss what’s happening here. Beyonces sister Solange is aware of her blackness and shows true pride in her culture. She stands next to her sister and the shame is visible on her face. Over time, it would be like a Jackson sibling standing next to Michael Jackson.
In all respect to Michael Jackson, it was reported that he had a skin disease. Will Beyonce claim this same illness? She better not. Her behavior on stage is already repulsive enough with all the sexuality, but to add insult to injury, she’s ashamed of her own heritage. She needs a dose of reality.
I remember hearing an interview with the Knowles family and they spoke of their trials. Beyonce said they were living the good life, then all of a sudden they had to move from a 5 bedroom to a 3 bedroom! Wow, so this is what she calls tough times? She has everything given to her. She wants for nothing and the thanks she gives the black community who helped make her is…I’m ashamed of being myself. She comes off as one who is from the block, but she’d deny her darker counterparts if she could. It is embarrasing to me, being a black woman that someone would go through so much to change/alter their appearance. Why go lighter? It seems that she wants to look like Shakira. Perhaps it’s anyone lighter than herself. She’s like a chameleon, she changes on the spot. When Keri Hilson came out with that hair cut, Beyonce made a video with the exact same hairstyle. When Shakira was getting attention, Beyonce came up to work alongside Shakira with “Beautiful Liar”. When Lady Gaga, reached status, Beyonce did a video with her on “Telephone”.
Beauty or not, she’s definitely not one who anyone can say, “I know her”. Noone does. She started out being a mini Tina Turner and made her career mimicking everyone around her, or upstaging them. Most people would be afraid of putting her on an album because she oversings everything.
I’m not going to be cordial because It’s childish to see someone with the world at their fingertips, at their disposal who men crave, flock to, girls aspire to be like, and they have horrible selfesteem issues. I thought it was just me.
She is well “versed” and speaks like a robot when she’s on stage. She seems to have nothing outside the box to say. How can one be a slut on stage, and then act like a lady when being interviewed? Doesn’t add up. And the whole Sasha fierce thing…copout. Noone wants to hear it. My overall sentiment is this. Will the REAL Beyonce Knowles stand up? The world would like to know you. While you’re so busy trying to be someone else, whose going to be you?
None of this comes from malice. It’s just time that we grow up and love ourselves for who we are and walk in that love and adoration that you are meant to be.
It sends the message that there is something wrong with being black. It makes it appear that to be accepted, the skin must be lighter. That’s not the case. All women of all shades are beautiful, but Beyonce appears to have a problem with self hate, but I wish she’d keep it to herself.
If she doesn’t get help now, she’ll be like the leading lady character in “SunSet Boulevard”. Ooh the horror!
